The 2006 Dong-A ·LG International Festival of Comics & Animation will be held at Ilmin Museum of Art during July 21 August 13, 2006. This event is proudly presented by Dong-A Ilbo (Daily Newspaper) and sponsored by LG Cooperation. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Dong-A & LG International Festival of Comics & Animation will have an exhibition of the prizewinners from the competition of Korea Comics and International Comics.

The 2006 Dong-A·LG International Competition of Comics, Cartoon, and Character Design & Animation will have over 1,300 pieces of artworks from 30 different countries on display. Approximately 90 pieces of artwork have been selected for the final round. Finalists in each category can be seen at DIFECA’s homepage (www.difeca.com). A total of 91,000,000 won will be give away to all prizewinners.

There will be two different sections for Korean comics called ‘I’m a Cartoon Artist’ and ‘A Comic room’ will be on display during the exhibition. Korean invited artists who became famous through Dong-A ·LG International Competition of Comics, Cartoon, Character Design & Animation will show interesting comics about daily life situations that we can easily relate to.

As for International Comics, ‘The Swiss Sculpture Comics’ will be introduced during the festival. Swiss is one of the famous countries in Europe for comic books along with France, Italy and Belgium. This is first time in Korea to show Swiss Comics where people can see new trend in comics. In addition, a variety of events such as ‘making a comic pot’ and ‘playing with a comic mask’ are prepared for children and families.
