نتائج بينالي بلوفديف في بلغاريا 2005 Dear friends, The Third International Biennial "Masters of Caricature" is organized by the Ethnographic museum in Plovdiv under the patronage of Plovdiv Municipality and in cooperation with Ancient Plovdiv Municipal Institute and the Association of Caricaturists in Plovdiv. The first two editions of the Biennial attracted participants all over the world who have the desire to express, by this event, their social commitment and cultural identity. The subject of the present edition "The Carnival - A Perspective on Traditional Folk Culture" is a kind of a specific meeting place of caricature as art and ethnology as a science. The Biennial gives the opportunity to be grasped both the spirit of different cultures and our own "second image" by means of an untraditional look at traditional issues. We have received 237 caricatures of 71 caricaturists from Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and Australia. After a fine selection, the jury chose 64 caricatures, printed in this catalogue and awarded the title "Master of Caricature" to 5 authors. The authors nominated in previous editions of the Biennial have an honorary participation. Presenting the characteristic features of the traditional and modern culture by means of a specific artistic genre such as caricature, the Biennial reveals the richness and diversity of carnival around the world. Simultaneously, it provides an opportunity for mutual acquaintance, understanding and acceptance of the differences. JURY 26/10/2005 |
